Brat-N-Wife

Growing up my dad went on several trips all over the world.  My dad has been to over 30 different countries so I remember him going and coming all the time, bringing us presents back from the country he most recently visited.  I remember feeling sad when he would leave, however, the sadness would pass once something else caught my attention. Whether it was playing outside with friends, or simply "Mom what's for dinner tonight?"

Trips/Schools, and Deployments are extremely different now that I am a wife.

Yesterday, I saw my husband off for a year long deployment.  Most people couldn't even fathom the idea of their significant other being gone for 2 weeks, much a year long deployment.  How do you say goodbye to your loved one for a year?  Granted we will see each other in six months or so, but come on,  it's pretty much a year to me.  We said our goodbyes, a few tears were shed, and that was it.  The buses left the parking lot, and Operation Deployment began.

I am so thankful to have such great support from family, and friends.  Especially my parents who were there yesterday with me as well.  My mom is a huge inspiration to me.  This women had not 1 child to take care of, but 3 when my dad went away.  Not to mention, at one time we were all in diapers at the same time.  My dad and her have already given such great advice to myself and Adam, and I will definitely look to them for support and encouragement throughout this year.  They mean so much to me.

I received a phone call around 10:00 last night from Adam.  He couldn't talk long, but told me he was in Germany and would call/email once he was able to again.  Fingers crossed for a phone call or email from him today! Have a great day!
